| Changes... are all around us, but when they become closer to home and to those around us, it can be almost overwhelming. The changes for me have been great for the most part, some sad and some very exciting. It is all on the mind set of how we view the changes in our life. We can choose to see them as a time to grow or we can circum to selfishness by being swallowed up by them. So what changes have taken place in the last few months? Well, for starters. I failed an insurance exam 3x. It was something I needed to study for and follow through with even though I knew it was not for me. So, with $200 down the drain, all I can show for it is perseverance and integrity. That is something to be satisfied with. In the midst of all that the company I work for had to cut back our pay. Thankfully, they are able to keep us all on board and will repay when the market is back up. If, that was not enough change add on the factor that room mate issues were arising and the need to move was evident. So while moving, my godly man tells me that God keeps pointing to me and saying yes and it will not be too much longer (which means I'll be moving again very soon)! And just this past wknd my mom tells me that they are moving Friday. Now they will be 4 hours away instead of a half hour away. And considering I have not finish unpacking or giving away things I don't need anymore, with the load of work ahead of me I'm just about at the end of my rope. However, being reminded of God's grace is sufficient for each one of us and He is our strength, we can persevere through whatever comes are way, b/c Jesus is still right here, we just need to walk with Him and follow Him where He leads with joyful and grateful hearts. So walk on my friends, don't be weary, but cling to the one who offers eternal life! and LIVE for HIM! With love, Surfpassion | | |
| Have you ever felt that you were exactly where you were supposed to be and yet not...content b/c what is asked of you, you desire not to procceed with for it sucks the life out of you? Have you ever felt that you were exactly where you were supposed to be and yet not...content b/c you knew the place you are at is just for a season? Then may I suggest that you just let go. Let go of your hesitations and move forward. Take off the breaks and embrace the wind in your face as you run towards the finish line. O, what light afflictions we have compared to those who have paved the way. Yet, we look at the negatives and woas of our day as excuses for not truely living up to all that we can be. What would it take just to accept the now and joyfully embrace it? This season will soon be over and what will you have to show for it? Have you allowed yourself to grow, to learn, to teach, to help, to spread cheer? Don't let these moments pass you by, if you are not quite feeling it or just don't care; Pray and ask the Lord to reveal what is keeping you from doing what is called of you. Watch and wait for the answer the Lord gives you. Then you can begin to work on it. B/c then you will be able to grow with the boulder removed from the path set out before you. Press on!!! | Pride is something I thought I didn't have to deal with in my life, until today. This past weekend I have been wanting some quiet time, but found myself staying "busy". Well, tonight, I could not take it any longer. I just needed some quiet time. Time to pray. Time to listen. Time to obey... I didn't want to get on my knees. What difference would it make if I poured out my heart to God standing up or lying down? To God and for me it did make a difference. For one, God asked me to get on my knees. So, I did out of obedience. I with my knees on the ground and head bowed. I began to pour my heart out before the Lord. And you know what? I found that yes, it was Pride keeping me from the throne of grace. It was pride keeping me from going before my Father to pray. It was humility that I needed. I needed to seek the throne of grace and give up my pride for something more beautiful. What is that beauty that was required? Obedience. Not only obedience, but humility. Humility to say, I'm sorry for allowing this pride to get in the way of me and you Jesus. Please forgive me. Here it is. All my scattered thoughts and concerns. I give them all to you for complete control. Here am I, take all of me. I am yours and you are mine. I surrender to your control, for there is sweet freedom in the grace of your loving embrace. ~Surfpassion | | |
| Happy New Year! With just three hours of sleep I am still kicken or at least trying to be productive while trying to enjoy this lovely day off. Yet I find myself going through old albums thinking, I certainly have changed. I am very glad I have. I look at the pictures and some of them I wish didn't come with the memories. Ironically, those are the very pictures I look at and say thank you Jesus for getting me thorough, for healing those wounds, for growing me closer to you! Thank you Jesus for bringing me to today! Thank you Jesus for one more day to live! Thank you Jesus for one more day to love! Thank you Jesus for one more day to give! Thank you Jesus for one more day to laugh! Thank you Jesus for one more day to praise you and give you thanks! Thank you Jesus for FORGIVENESS and for setting me FREE from the bondage of sin. It is ONLY by your blood that I am able to accept such treasured gifts you have blessed me with! Thank you Jesus for that man you have placed in my life to encourage me in my walk with you! Thank you for that man who you have brought in my life that only makes me want to live each day better and to give you honor and glory! Be grateful, be thankful, be joyful from a pure heart. | Why is it that Sallie Mae has to make it so hard for one to pay their loan. You'd think that would be the easiest thing to do, just pay the monthly payment, but NO! Sorry! First you will have to reenter your email. Secondly, answer a couple questions. Thirdly, download Adobe. And that, is just so you can pay the flipping bill! Then by the time you do all that. Guess what? Now your payment is late and we will now add a late fee. Huh? I wonder why? If you wouldn't make it so Flipping hard to make a payment it wouldn't be late! EERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Seriously, I wonder if the person who set up their website even went to college? Or how many who work there actually graduated. Anyway... I don't mean to be so ERRRR! So, on the good side of things. I thankfully, accepted an unexpected bonus from work today! Yeah! Thank you Jesus! He knew I was going to need it! O, and exciting news. My guy asked me to be his first mate!!! All Aboard the Friendship that is! Yep, that sums up my day! Thought of the day: What is edifying? Encouragement: Forgive others so your Heavenly Father can forgive you. It is a heart thing, so just don't say it, but genuinely mean it! ~Surfpassion | | |
